Poison isn't Pretty:
Believe
it or not, the U.S. does not require the $35 billion cosmetics
industry to test any of the chemicals used in its products for
harmful health effects. The scary thing is, some of these chemicals
that are in common cosmetics and personal care products are known or
suspected carcinogens and reproductive toxins, strongly suspected of
causing cancer, mutation or birth defects. The National
Institute of Occupational Safety, for example, has identified almost
900 personal care chemicals that are toxic in one way or another.
Some cause cancer. Others cause hormone disruption. Some are
neurotoxins. And still others can cause organ damage.
Is it natural?
100% natural, all natural, or natural
are phrases commoly misused. There is no actual definition
of natural according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
All ingredients are chemicals by definition. "Derived" ingredients
are unnatural both according to the original substance and the
method of derivation. The term natural has considerable market
value in promoting skin care cosmetic products to consumers, but
dermatologists say it has very little medical meaning and the FDA
states the claim has no legal meaning. Despite pressure from
advocacy groups such as The Environmental Working Group (EWG) the
FDA has not defined what natural is or how to achieve it. Contrary
to popular belief the FDA does not regulate the sale of skin care
and cosmetic products before they are sold. So be aware of
what the ingredients are in the products you use.
Love is in the air...but do you know
what's in your makeup?

Avon, Proctor and Gamble, Revlon and Estee Lauder
dedicates significant resources to breast cancer awareness, yet some
of the common compounds and chemicals used in those cosmetics are
known or probable breast
carcinogens! This is why the contribution from them in the
pink ribbon campaign to support the fight against breast cancer is
hypocritical and just
a marketing
gimmick.
Skin is the largest organ in the human body, and one of its
most remarkable. A breathing layer of protection between us and the
world, it grows up and out in layers that replace themselves every
52 to 75 days. The average adult, in fact, sheds about 40 pounds of
skin over the course of a lifetime, and typically carries around 21
square feet of it, weighing 7 pounds and containing 300 million
individual cells. Each square inch of skin has roughly 10 hairs, 15
oil glands, 72 feet of nerve fiber, 100 sweat glands, and over 3
feet of blood vessels, which make our skin very absorbent and cause
the things we put on it become quickly absorbed into our bodies.
When it comes to traditional personal care and make-up products,
this can be quite hazardous to our health. Parabens, for example,
are chemical preservatives that have been found to mimic estrogen
and alter the body’s delicate hormonal balance. Another class of
compounds commonly found in such products is phthalates, which have
been linked to breast cancer.
Unlike those harmful
companies, dust pureminerals has taken initiative to rise above
and provide our customers with a completely higher
level of expectations and quality. Dust products
stand on the opposite end of the spectrum then
the other products that are being offered in the cosmetic world
today. Please read below to find out
why.
My story -
I
have worked for two of the most successful and well know cosmetic
companies in the eyes of world today. But I think that
kind of success depends on your definition. Profits would
change if people were made aware of what some of these
companies were getting away with. Knowledge is powerful!
See, this knowledge that I’ve gained from my research is exactly
what has fueled my ambition and determination to create and provide
a cosmetic line, dust pureminerals,
which is guilt
free. I started doing research on the ingredients
that we women across the globe pay big bucks for and are lathering
on our faces; day and night…the results were
shocking! I was taken back by my new found
facts and felt it was now my duty to raise awareness and do
these women and their skin justice. After much research,
motivation and dedication…dust
pureminerals was
born! Say goodbye to your old
cosmetics that cause irritation, breakouts, dryness and among more
serious conditions - cancer and birth defects. Dust pureminerals are
free of those harmful chemicals as well as, talc, oil, fragrance,
synthetic colors/ dyes and fillers. Dust is totally
organic and all natural providing you with
the most pure ingredients while being completely conscious of things
like, allergies, skin conditions, coverage, skin types, color
pallet, sun protection, ant aging benefits, ph balance, minimizing
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, environment and
convenience. Let me highlight a few added
